Brands in the Pagamio VAS system represent the primary providers of products and services. Understanding brands helps in navigating available products and making informed purchase decisions.
What is a Brand?
- A Brand is a main product or service provider (e.g., MTN, Vodacom, Telkom).
- Brands may offer multiple products across different categories (e.g., Airtime, Data, Electricity).
- Each brand has a unique ID and code used for API requests and filtering.
Why Brands Matter
- Helps identify which products are available under a specific brand.
- Determines how to filter products when fetching data via API endpoints.
- Provides clarity when analyzing transactions by brand.
Best Practices
- Always reference the brand ID when filtering products in API requests.
- Use the
/lookups/brandsendpoint to fetch all active brands and their metadata. - Verify the brand exists before attempting purchases to avoid errors.
